Check a watch
Every luxury pre-owned watch should be checked against The Watch Register database prior to every transaction for the best protection against stolen and fake goods. This includes watches sold with box and papers, and watches already been checked against our database by a previous owner.
All unique numbers on a watch should be submitted to ensure an accurate result.
The Certificate we issue for a watch is only valid for the unique number(s) you have provided.
Up to three unique Serial identifiers can be entered for each watch (e.g. serial, case, movement).
Each number should be entered into a separate field.
Enter the number only with no prefixes, i.e. exclude words ‘No.’, ‘Case’, ‘Movement’, etc.
Edition numbers should entered into the Edition fields, not the serial identifier field.
Patek Philippe: both case and movement number must be provided for a Certificate to be issued.
Read our Guidelines for further steps to protect yourself when buying a pre-owned watch.
Checks cost £10 (+VAT where applicable) or 1 search credit. Traders can buy a credit bundle here.
